What is the Difference Between an Anti-Social and an Introverted?
When you’re an introvert, you have this energy level, like this internal battery. And energy level decreasess when you are with peoples, and increase when you are by yourself. Rate of decreasing depends on the people you are with. And So if you are with your best friend, your energy will last much longer compared to when you are with an annoying relatives. The more introverted you are, the faster your energy dies down, and the more you need to recharge. So basically, an introvert is someone who finds socializing a draining experience.
Think of a recharge as a mental and emotional break. At the beginning of the summer, people may not be energized, but as the season progresses, they start to come out of their shells. People start to remember what they love about summer. Their energy returns, as the summer season comes to an end. The same happens for introverts. They may come back, a little tired but with a stronger energy. They take a nice, long nap, and return to work or school with a lot more energy. The problem with most students, however, is that they don’t have this mental break. In school, we have assignments, presentations, tests, group projects, and exams. Since the socialization starts only when school is done, we have nothing to relax.

Unfortunately, introverts can’t really speak for themselves and so there’s not a widely accepted definition of introversion, although various studies have attempted to develop some consensus on what introversion actually is. The fact of the matter is, we all identify with our personalities, and so all you need to do is ask yourself some questions to better understand your personality. For example, how often are you late? How do you feel when people criticize you? Are you easily offended by speech? Do you find it easy to isolate yourself? Do you dread social situations? Do you find it easy to make new friends? Do you enjoy talking about yourself? Do you shy away from making physical contact with other people? Do you talk a lot? How about listening? Are you particularly gifted with words?
What is an anti-social?
When you are an anti-social, you are not the type of person who enjoys socializing or being around other people. You prefer to do things by yourself. If you are an anti-social, you are just not wired for being with people. Most of the time, you don’t mind being alone. But there are certain times when you just want to be around people. Now when it comes to being an introvert or an anti-social, some people will think that one of them is better than the other. Of course there are some people who like being alone and would like to socialize in small groups. And there are others who like being around people and really enjoy being out with their friends and family. So it’s actually quite fine to be an introvert or an anti-social.
